Welcome to the Penfield High School PTSA!

Our goal is plain and simple - to help Penfield High School students succeed!

We achieve this goal through the following initiatives:

  • Providing information and opportunities for families as your students go through PHS
  • Supporting students through grants and scholarships and national programs
  • Showing appreciation to faculty and staff

Your support of the PTSA through membership and donations contributes to the strength of PHS and our students' high school experiences. Membership does not obligate you to meetings or committee work, but we welcome your participation.

We are also on Facebook!

A Note from the President:

Happy Spring?

You can’t tell from the temperatures, but spring officially arrives March 20th. Spring break begins with Good Friday on 3/30 and then we will be into the long home stretch of the school year already. The 3rd quarter ends right after break on April 11th. As we are approaching the 4th quarter, the PTSA is starting to plan for next year. If you think you might be interested in volunteering to help, whether it be for a one-time event or for a more long-term position, we’d love to hear from you. Some opportunities include Secretary, fundraising, Fantastic Finds help, teacher appreciation events, and more.

There will be no PTSA meeting/presentation in April. We are encouraging everyone to attend the district capital project information session on April 23rd and the Meet the Candidates Night on April 30th.

The Parent Advisory Board and Parent University have partnered with the school district to present a screening of the movie “Angst” on April 16th at 7:00 p.m. at PHS. There will be a discussion following the movie. From the film’s website: “Angst is a 56-minute film and virtual reality experience that explores anxiety, its causes, effects and what we can do about it. The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they’ve learned about it.  The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.” This promises to be an informative evening for parents with kids of all ages.

As we begin planning for next year, we’d love your feedback on any presentations or other things you would like to see from the PTSA. Please feel free contact us with any suggestions.
