Congratulations to Emily Donals - 2012 PTA Jenkins Scholar

I am pleased to inform you that one of your students has won a NYS PTA Jenkins Scholarship. The four year scholarship is funded by Honorary Life memberships and memorials or gifts from units and members. Jenkins scholars may attend any college of the State University of New York to prepare for teaching. To become a Jenkins winner is quite an honor since only nine winners are chosen state wide from an annual pool of 150 highly qualified students. This year Genesee Valley was fortunate to have 5 of the 9 winners, which speak highly to the quality of the students in our area and to the quality of the public education in our schools. Having participated in the interview process at SUNY Brockport this year was very encouraging seeing the caliber of students planning to become teachers.

Please join us in congratulating Emily Donals of Penfield HS for becoming a 2012 Jenkins Scholar.
