The 2011-2012 PHS program has concluded, but if you would like to get started on next year -
2012-2013 Theme - "The Magic of a Moment..." Entries are due: 5 November 2012 In School Contact - Mr. Luke Lorenzo PTSA Contacts - Mrs. Marianne Tuttle and Mrs. Marcia Vick The information below will be updated over the summer when the National PTA releases the final 2012-2013 Rules and Information. You can expect the categories and general rules for the artwork to be similar, traditionally only submission guidelines have changed. All entries must be accompanied by a completed Student Entry Form and if a person's image is used, a signed Consent Form (see attachments below). The artist's statement on how their work relates to the theme is a very important part of the submission. Check out the judging score card.
All entries receive recognition for participating. Judging will occur for Penfield High School and the top entries will be entered into the regional Genesee Valley PTA competition. Winners from there move on to NYS PTA, then National PTA competitions. Don’t be intimidated by the rules, the PTSA Reflections committee is here to help. Each entry must be the original work of one student only. An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work. Because the program is designed to encourage and recognize each student’s individual creativity, help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed. Only one student may be recognized as the award recipient for each entry. Other individuals may appear in or perform a student’s work, but the work itself—the dance choreography or film production (including screenplay, camerawork, and directing) or musical composition (including written score and any lyrics), etc.—must be the creative product of one student only. (See the specific arts area rules for details.) Use of copyrighted material (other than recorded music in dance choreography and film production entries) is prohibited.
